Privacy Policy for Android Games with Google Play Purchases
Retro Dreamer (“we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled in the Android versions of our games that link to this policy in the game and on Google Play (“Apps”), including Ice Cream Jump.
This policy covers those Apps and related customer support. Other versions of our games and visits to our websites are covered by the policies linked from those services, including our Retro Dreamer privacy policy.
- Your game progress and settings are stored on your device. We do not operate a player-account or game-save server.
- The Apps contain no advertisements, advertising SDKs or separate gameplay analytics service.
- The Apps use Google Play Billing for optional purchases. Google also receives technical information from its Billing library.
- Where the law requires a parent to approve an update, the Apps use Google Play’s supervision information to pause the game until a parent approves. We do not ask you to enter your birth date.
- You or your parent can contact us about privacy, access or deletion using the details below.
1. Game information on your device
The Apps store progress, scores, settings, unlocked content and purchase-entitlement records in their private storage on your device. We use this information to run the game, remember your choices and deliver content you have purchased. It is not uploaded to a Retro Dreamer game server.
The Apps do not provide online player accounts, chat, public profiles, online leaderboards or cloud game-save syncing.
Android’s own backup and device-transfer features may copy your game progress and settings, depending on the App and your device’s settings. For example, Android may copy them when you set up a new device. Any backup is stored in your Google account and handled by Google. We cannot see it.
You can remove local information by clearing the App’s storage in Android settings or uninstalling it. Doing so can erase your progress.
2. Google Play purchases
The Apps offer optional purchases through Google Play Billing. Google handles checkout, payment details, purchase authentication and applicable family purchase approvals. The game does not receive your payment-card number, bank-account details or Google password.
The game receives purchase information from Google, including the product, transaction token, quantity and purchase status. It uses this information to deliver and restore purchases, avoid duplicate delivery and acknowledge completed purchases to Google. It stores the entitlement information needed to remember what you own.
We can see the order records Google Play provides to developers (such as product, price, date and country) and use them for support, refunds and accounting. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
If you choose to share usage and diagnostics information with Google on your device, Google Play may also give us summary statistics and crash reports about the Apps. These do not identify you.
Google operates its payment services under its own terms and privacy notices. See the Google Privacy Policy and the payment privacy notice shown by Google during checkout. Google Play purchases are optional; you can play without buying an item.
3. Technical information sent by Google Play Billing
Google’s billing component sends Google technical information about billing requests, such as errors and device details, to operate and troubleshoot purchases. This can happen when the game checks prices or restores purchases, even if you do not buy anything.
We do not send gameplay scores or progress to an analytics service or include advertising trackers. Google handles information received by its services under its own privacy notices.
4. Significant updates and parental approval
Where the law requires a parent to approve a significant update for a supervised account, some Apps check Google Play Age Signals when they start. Google tells the App whether the account is supervised and whether a parent has approved the update. If approval is pending or has been declined, the App pauses the game, and its purchases, until a parent approves. Optional purchases also wait until this check has finished.
The App stores only whether it is waiting for approval, on your device. It does not ask for or store your age or birth date, and none of this is sent to a Retro Dreamer server or used for advertising or profiling.
5. Children and families
If you are under 13, or a minor where you live, please ask your parent or legal guardian for permission before using the Apps. We encourage parents and guardians to review this policy and take an active role in their children’s use of games and purchases. The privacy protections described here apply to all players. The Apps do not ask players to create accounts, provide contact details, upload photos or communicate with other players.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, please contact contact@retrodreamer.com so we can delete it from our records.
If a child under 13 contacts us directly, we use their contact information only to reply once to that request. We do not use it for anything else or contact the child again, and we delete it promptly after replying. If more help is needed, we ask that a parent or guardian contact us.
6. When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide, such as your message, an order reference or a screenshot. We use it to answer your request, investigate a problem and handle related follow-up. Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary information about a child. A parent or guardian should contact us on a child’s behalf where possible.
Retro Dreamer is based in California, United States, where we handle support correspondence. Our email service providers process that correspondence for us. We do not use support messages to create marketing lists.
7. Legal grounds and disclosures
Where EU or UK data protection law applies, Retro Dreamer is the controller. We rely on these legal grounds:
- Contract: to deliver, restore and acknowledge purchases you request, and to answer requests about them.
- Legitimate interests: to answer other support requests, prevent duplicate delivery or misuse of purchases, keep business records, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Our interest is running and supporting our games responsibly. We weigh it against your interests, and give particular weight to the interests of children.
- Legal obligation: to apply parental approval of significant updates where the law requires it, to keep tax, accounting and other records the law requires, and to respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal information from the Apps or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information as needed for the Google services described above, to providers handling business correspondence or records on our behalf, and where necessary to meet legal requirements or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. These disclosures are limited to information relevant to their purpose.
8. How long information is kept
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, then delete it:
- Support emails: deleted within 12 months after your request is closed, unless a purchase dispute or legal claim is still open, or we are legally required to keep them longer. In those cases we keep them only as long as needed, then delete them.
- Messages from a child: deleted promptly after our one reply, as described in section 5.
- Deletion requests: when you, or a parent or guardian, ask us to delete information, we do so within 30 days. If we must keep anything for an open dispute or a legal requirement, we will tell you what and why.
- Purchase records: we do not keep our own copies of individual Google Play order records. We look them up in Google Play when needed for support or refunds.
Game information stored on your device remains there until removed or replaced, as explained in section 1. Google handles retention of information in its services under its own retention policies.
9. Your privacy rights
You, or a parent or guardian acting for a child, can email contact@retrodreamer.com with the App’s name to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law. We may ask for the minimum information needed to verify the request.
Where EU or UK law applies, you can also ask us to restrict our use of your information. You can object to uses based on our legitimate interests, and you can receive information you gave us in a portable format where that right applies. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU, the authority where you live or work. We’d welcome the chance to resolve your concern first.
We cannot remotely access or erase a save stored only on your device. For information held by Google, use the Google Account privacy controls. Deleting local game data does not refund a purchase or remove it from your Google account.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information involved, including keeping gameplay data in private App storage; purchases are handled by Google’s secure services. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
11. Changes to this policy
We will publish changes to this policy and update its effective date. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required, and obtain consent or authorization before a new use when applicable law requires it.
